Her dancing experience
Born in Mumbai, she grew up in France. When she was young, she practiced modern jazz. Then, during her teenage years, she wanted to start Indian dance to go back to traditions of her own country.
Her meeting with Baratha Natyam
She found her way in Bollywood dance, Yoga and more specifically in Bharata Natyam, the south Indian classical dance which is danced in temples to get into a spiritual connection. This discipline is a mix between dance and drama. It is called “Yoga Dance” too. It contributes to increase rigour, good physical skills and excellent coordination of movement. She has improved her skills by following trainings here in India in Chennai. After 10 years of practice and round trips between France and India, she became also a Master of Bharata Natyam in 2005. Her participation in Natyanjali Festival in 2010 to celebrate the 1000 years of Tanjor Temple proved her talent.
With her experience, she started giving courses of Bharata Natyam and Bollywood. She has created also her own association in Nantes called Devananda, in which she gave Bharatha Natyam and Bollywood classes, and then Hatha Yoga sessions. After 9 years of teaching in France, she has decided to return to India.
