A fresh start with fresh and creative activities
1825 is the number of days of Sita’s existence... and this is a very good reason to have a celebration! Indeed, on January 21, 2017, Sita hosted a very big event all day long. From 8 am to 7 pm, elation run inside the Villa Martine Marie Jacqueline; throughout the day, numerous and original activities were proposed. The morning began with Yoga and Creative Dance, so people could start the day in a very relax, fresh and energizing way. Sumesh taught both new and reachable mantras, while Julie taught to let it go with your body while focusing on your inner movement.
Creative art activities were on too, and were for children mainly, such as the very nice Origami workshop, and the Kite workshop. They could learn how to make boxes, animals thanks to nothing but paper, and some lucky ones were able to create their own kites!
Food and Indian Culture Lovers were in Heaven
A Sita is passionate about food, three special cooking workshops had also been organized. The first one, about Indian food, was a class for kid; run by Manisha, children could learn how to make delicious coconut donut. The two other workshops were about baking, as Pooja organized a class for decoration on cookies, using various materials to make beautiful eatable pieces of art. She also prepared a baking class for adult, where three different kinds of cookies recipes were on the menu and have been followed step by step thanks to the teacher nice advises.
Following Sita's values, Indian art and culture had a big part during the day, as Lakshmi, the Indian soul of Sita, gave a Saree and a free Kolam Workshop, in order to give a glimpse of some of her traditional practices. Finally, a well-being part slide inside this dense program, as Fleur made two Ayurveda Do-It-Yourself workshops where she revealed her secrets on how to make homemade and natural face and hair care.
Cakes, fun, and surprises
As you can see, very serious and contentious workshops took place!... But what will be a birthday without a cake! At the end of the day, Sita’s friends such as curious ones were welcomed to have the choice between a piece of the amazing chocolate cake cooked by Pooja, or lovely violet and vanilla cupcakes coming from Eat My Cake. Next to this, you could enjoy one of our two special drinks of the day, watermelon ice tea and Nojito cocktails. While eating, people attended to the result of our original Lottery; indeed a very nice box full of gifts such as crepes and homemade salted butter from Crepe in Touch, cookies from daily Bread, oils from Rishi, a little pocket bag from Kriti, and even a painting from Ejoumale, was waiting for you to guess its weight. The one who was closest to the real weight won all of the package!
The day was such a success, and we would like to say a big thank you to the ones who organized it, and volunteer, to the one of supported it, and most of all, to our guests to have brought such a good energy inside Sita’s Home. If you missed it, no worries, six years sounds like a big number that needs a celebration, we already have a lot of idea!
