On Pondicherry beach promenade, you can get delicious chat, snack food.There are a multitude of street vendors of small snacks or "chitchat", with a particular concentration along Beach Road, especially in the evening, at a time when Indian families come and take fresh air along the Bay of Bengal.

 

 

 

Chickpeas, roasted corn, salads, cakes, seasoned with lemon, pepper, chopped onions or chillies, are sold to passers-by in cups made of banana leaves. It is really difficult to resist the sweet and tasty fresh fruit, artistically carved pineapples, watermelons, mangoes, guavas, cut for immediate degustation.
